Light and Interactivity
Final Project (Done)
This week we did the final laser cuts and 3D prints, I decided to change my gesture from sideways motion to and upward and downward motion, I changed my model architecture a bit and it detects the gesture better now. Although we need more data input from different people because it was trained on my specific gesture it's going to be biased. The other problem is the resolution of our sensor. It's just one dimensional cheap distance sensor which means most gestures can fall into my gesture, even raising your arm on top of the sensor can trigger the light on and off. But this in my opinion was a fun experiment with machine learning and in embedded systems and I definitely want to keep experimenting with it further into my research.
We 3D printed and laser cut the necessary pieces we needed. We put them together using super glue and we also cut two circle acrylic pieces and used paper to diffuse them and placed them in the middle of the side circles.
